Ex-King & Spalding Partner Dounia Mansour Joins Hogan Lovells To Strengthen Middle East Funds Practice
Ex-King & Spalding Partner Dounia Mansour joins Hogan Lovells to strengthen Middle East Funds practice
The global law firm Hogan Lovells has announced the appointment of Dounia Mansour as Partner in its Private Equity and Funds practice, further expanding the firm’s Corporate & Finance capabilities in the Middle East. Mansour will be based in the firm’s Dubai office and joins from King & Spalding.
The strategic hire reinforces Hogan Lovells’ commitment to strengthening its presence in the region, particularly in response to the growing importance of the Middle East as a global hub for private capital, investment funds, and cross-border fundraising activities.
James Doyle, Global Corporate & Finance Practice Group Leader at Hogan Lovells, stated that the firm is delighted that Dounia is joining the team. He added that the Middle East has long been a key location for fundraising, and her arrival is an important and timely addition as the firm continues to enhance its global Private Equity & Funds offering and increase its profile and access to this strategically important region.
A highly regarded private capital lawyer, Dounia Mansour specialises in the structuring, establishment, and distribution of both onshore and offshore investment funds across the Middle East and internationally. She advises on a wide range of asset classes including private equity, debt, real estate, fund-of-funds, and Shari’ah-compliant investment vehicles, with particular expertise in UAE fund structures and regulatory frameworks.
Her market reputation has been widely recognised, having been named Investment Funds Rising Star of the Year at the Legal 500 MENA Awards in both 2024 and 2025.
Georgy Kalashnikov, Regional Managing Partner for the Middle East at Hogan Lovells, commented,
“Dounia’s deep knowledge of growing fundraising opportunities, her strong network of client relationships, and her leading market profile add significant depth to our existing team as we continue our journey to become a global elite firm in the markets in which we operate.”
Commenting on her appointment, Dounia Mansour said,
“I am delighted to be joining Hogan Lovells and to work closely with the team and the wider network to further build and develop our corporate offering in the Middle East and our global investment funds practice, in order to better serve both our international and domestic clients.”
Mansour’s appointment follows closely on the heels of other key hires by the firm in the region and globally, including M&A partner Walid Salib in Riyadh and investment funds partner Thibault Dupont-Nougein in Paris, reflecting Hogan Lovells’ continued investment in strengthening its global private equity and funds platform.
Conclusion
The addition of Dounia Mansour marks a significant step in Hogan Lovells’ regional and global growth strategy. Her appointment not only enhances the firm’s expertise in investment funds and private capital but also underscores the increasing importance of the Middle East as a critical market for global law firms and international investors.
