FIS Appoints Arpita Sen as VP & Associate General Counsel, Head of Legal – India
FIS has appointed Arpita Sen as Vice President & Associate General Counsel, Head of Legal – FIS India, marking a significant leadership addition to its legal and compliance function in the region.
Arpita Sen brings with her over 30 years of extensive experience as a General Counsel and legal advisor across leading multinational organizations. She most recently served as Associate General Counsel, Head of Business Legal Intel India at Intel India, where she led legal operations for Intel’s largest R&D center outside the United States, supporting approximately 30,000 employees. In this role, she managed end-to-end legal functions across India, including board governance, M&A, employment, procurement, CSR, as well as cross-border transactions spanning Malaysia and Vietnam, while also handling government incentive negotiations, data center partnerships, and complex litigation across India and APJ.
Before joining Intel, she held senior leadership roles across leading multinational organizations including Hinduja Global Solutions, Exide Life Insurance, Qualcomm India, AOL India, Qyuki Digital Media, and ING Vysya Life. She has extensive experience in managing global legal, compliance, and governance functions, along with complex M&A, regulatory, and cross-border transactions. She has also worked in private practice and with leading law firms, advising on corporate, VC/PE, and commercial matters across multiple sectors.
Recognition
In 2023, Arpita Sen was recognized among Legal Era’s India’s Finest General Counsel 2023 winners. In 2024, she was also selected for India’s Finest General Counsel 2024, further acknowledging her outstanding contribution to the legal profession and leadership excellence.
Arpita Sen holds a BALLB (Hons) degree in Corporate Laws from the National Law School of India University (1990–1995). She completed her schooling at Welham Girls School, where she studied Humanities from 1979 to 1990. She was also awarded the British Chevening Scholarship in Corporate Laws and Documentation from the College of Law, University of York, England.
She appointment reflects FIS’s continued focus on strengthening its legal leadership in India with seasoned professionals bringing deep expertise across governance, compliance, and global corporate advisory.
