Former Ashurst Partner Alfred Ng Joins Greenberg Traurig Singapore As Firm Accelerates Asia Expansion
Former Ashurst Partner Alfred Ng Joins Greenberg Traurig Singapore as Firm Accelerates Asia Expansion
Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP has strengthened its Singapore office with the addition of Alfred Ng, a leading Project & Infrastructure Finance lawyer, who joins as a shareholder. Ng brings extensive experience in advising clients on project development and financing transactions across power, infrastructure, oil and gas, petrochemicals, energy transition projects, and digital asset development.
Ng joins from Ashurst, where he built a reputation as a highly regarded lawyer specializing in complex cross-border infrastructure and energy projects. His appointment forms part of Greenberg Traurig’s broader Asia expansion strategy, enhancing the firm’s capacity to deliver comprehensive legal services across the region.
Richard A. Rosenbaum (Executive Chairman of Greenberg Traurig), said,
“Alfred is another key addition to our growing critical mass of top energy and infrastructure practitioners across Asia. By allowing freedom for our lawyers to operate on the ground, combined with the firm’s unified approach that encourages cross-border collaborations, we are positioned to assist clients with an all-encompassing range of opportunities in Asia and beyond."
Since opening in Shanghai in 2008, Greenberg Traurig has expanded its Asia footprint to Seoul, Tokyo, and Singapore, developing a collaborative network of lawyers across the region while maintaining strong connections with offices in the United States, Latin America, the Middle East, and Europe. The Singapore office, launched three years ago, now stands as one of Asia’s leading energy practices, having recently added Stella Bae, another globally recognized energy and project finance lawyer.
Ng brings deep expertise in both traditional and renewable energy sectors, including wind, solar, hydro, and battery storage, as well as experience in digital asset development projects across South and Southeast Asia and the Middle East. He will enhance Greenberg Traurig’s Asia Energy & Infrastructure Practice by broadening the firm’s reach and providing locally-led solutions for cross-border projects.
Joseph Kim (Greenberg Traurig Singapore Managing Shareholder), said,
“Greenberg Traurig has been following the lead of our clients, who are increasingly engaged in complex, cross-border energy and infrastructure projects. Adding Alfred to our team provides clients with additional expertise and perspectives in this rapidly expanding sector.”
Ng commented,
“I was drawn to the dynamism and collaborative culture at Greenberg Traurig. By combining my experience in South and Southeast Asia with the firm’s global network, we can offer clients innovative approaches across the full value chain of their investments, with a strong local focus. I am excited to join the team and demonstrate what we can deliver for our clients.”
The Greenberg Traurig team in Singapore is now well-positioned to provide comprehensive advice on project finance, infrastructure, energy transition, petrochemicals, and digital asset projects, supporting clients throughout Asia and globally.
The Greenberg Traurig team was led by Joseph Kim (Managing Shareholder, Singapore), with support from Jared Raleigh and William Wu (Partners), and recently joined by Stella Bae (Partner).
