GT Law, Eversheds Sutherland’s Singapore Alliance Firm, Appoints Yuh Huey Khoo As First Lateral Partner To Lead Financial Services And Private Client Practices

GT Law, Eversheds Sutherland’s Singapore Alliance Firm, Appoints Yuh Huey Khoo As First Lateral Partner To Lead Financial Services And Private Client Practices
GT Law, the Singapore alliance firm of Eversheds Sutherland, has welcomed its first-ever lateral partner, Yuh Huey Khoo, who joins from Eng & Co., a member firm of PwC, where she served as Director. Khoo will spearhead the firm’s Financial Services, Regulatory, and Private Client practices—marking a strategic expansion of GT Law’s capabilities in high-growth sectors across the Asia region.
With nearly two decades of multifaceted legal experience, Khoo is a seasoned advisor to global financial institutions, high-net-worth individuals, sovereign entities, and publicly listed conglomerates. Her diverse practice spans banking and insurance regulation, private wealth and estate planning, capital markets, employment law, and regulatory compliance.
Her regulatory practice encompasses a full suite of services, including licensing applications, compliance audits, regulatory investigations, statutory transfers, and business restructuring. In the financial services domain, she has represented a wide variety of clients such as banks, fintech firms, fund managers, insurers, brokers, and trust companies.
Khoo’s private wealth portfolio includes advising billionaires and family offices on succession strategies, trust structures, and the formation of private trust companies, further cementing her reputation as a trusted advisor in high-stakes personal and corporate matters. Her employment law work includes handling cross-border employment and immigration issues, with a special focus on regulatory compliance in Asia-Pacific jurisdictions.
Her notable clientele over the years includes CapitaLand, Changi Airport Group, City Developments, Keppel Corporation, Olam, SATS, and StarHub.
Khoo joined Eng & Co. in 2022 after a 14-year tenure at WongPartnership, where she rose to the rank of Partner. She began her legal career with Rajah & Tann.
Commenting on the development, GT Law said,
“We continue to invest in strategic areas, now expanding our focus in the field of financial services. This move further reinforces the firm's commitment to serving a wider range of clients in the Asia region, always maintaining a focus on excellence and innovation.”
Founded in 2020 following the end of Eversheds Sutherland’s merger with Harry Elias Partnership, GT Law has since operated as its exclusive Singapore alliance firm. With this latest hire, GT Law now comprises four partners: Sze-Hui Goh (Managing Partner), Sharon Teo, Gerald Goh, and now Yuh Huey Khoo, further strengthening its regional offering and global reach.
