Harneys Bolsters Hong Kong Disputes Practice with the Appointment of Calvin Chow as Partner
Harneys has expanded its Hong Kong team by welcoming Calvin Chow, a prominent litigator, as a partner. Chow, previously with PC Woo & Co., marks a significant lateral partner hire for the offshore firm, the first since 2021.
Chow boasts a diverse practice across Greater China, including the PRC, tackling complex cases from shareholder squabbles to insolvency knots, family conflicts, fraud allegations, and intricate fund disputes. He landed at PC Woo in 2008, bringing a unique blend of legal acumen honed after navigating the worlds of software engineering and trading.
With Calvin Chow's arrival, Harneys' Hong Kong team grows to 11 partners, showcasing their continued expansion in the region. Notably, funds lawyer Yucheng Fan joined from Maples in 2021, solidifying their expertise in key areas.
In 2023, the office saw the departures of disputes partner Andrew Chin to Gallant and consultant Lorinda Peasland to Appleby.
