With over 15 years of experience, she brings deep expertise across digital assets, blockchain innovation, DeFi, and crypto-financial services, further strengthening the firm’s capabilities in emerging technology-driven sectors.
Hillay Janebdar is a strategic and commercially minded Solicitor of England & Wales, having advised clients across the UK, UAE (including ADGM), and the BVI. Her appointment reinforces KARM Legal Consultants’ commitment to supporting clients in navigating complex and evolving regulatory frameworks while driving innovation-led growth in the virtual assets ecosystem.
Hillay Janebdar
Hillay Janebdar joins KARM Legal Consultants as Partner, bringing extensive experience from both private practice and senior in-house roles. Prior to this, she served as Senior Legal Counsel/Solicitor at confidential organisations, and earlier worked as an Associate Solicitor at Ronald Fletcher Baker LLP and as a Solicitor at Starck Uberoi Solicitors & Advocates. Her early career also includes a role as Senior Caseworker at MTG Solicitors. Across these roles, she has developed strong expertise in token structuring, exchange and custody models, DeFi and Web3 projects, and regulatory advisory including licensing, compliance, AML, and sanctions.
She is qualified as a Solicitor of England & Wales and has built a distinguished career advising on complex cross-border regulatory matters, particularly within the virtual assets and blockchain space. Her ability to translate intricate legal frameworks into practical, business-focused solutions makes her a valuable addition to the firm’s leadership.
In her role as Partner – Virtual Assets Practice, Hillay Janebdar will support digital asset businesses, blockchain innovators, and financial institutions in launching and scaling technology-driven platforms, while ensuring strong governance, compliance, and risk management frameworks.
Her addition significantly enhances KARM Legal Consultants’ ability to guide clients through the rapidly evolving virtual assets landscape, reinforcing the firm’s position as a trusted advisor in financial regulation and emerging technologies.
