KPMG Appoints Matt Miner As Vice Chair And General Counsel
KPMG LLP has announced that Matt Miner will join the firm as Vice Chair and General Counsel, effective February 28, 2025.
In his new role as Vice Chair - Legal, Regulatory & Compliance and General Counsel for KPMG's U.S. operations, Miner will be responsible for helping the firm deliver innovative services to clients while upholding professional obligations and ensuring a world-class ethics and compliance program.
Miner will also serve on the U.S. Management Committee and as Secretary to the KPMG U.S. Board of Directors, overseeing governance matters. In addition, he will assume the role of Head of Legal and Compliance for the Americas Region and will join the Americas Management Committee. He will work closely with leaders across the firm to advance KPMG's Trusted AI framework, ensuring the firm’s principles are embedded in the development of new solutions, including those involving generative AI.

Currently, Miner serves as Executive Vice President and Global Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer at Walmart, overseeing its ethics and compliance program.
Before joining Walmart, Miner was a leader in white-collar litigation and government investigations at Morgan Lewis in Washington, D.C., where he handled matters involving the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and Congress. He has also worked as a partner at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP and White & Case LLP, and served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Middle District of Alabama and on the staff of the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee.
Miner holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Cincinnati and a Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School.
