Madhav Uppuluri Appointed General Counsel At TCS From April 1, 2026
Madhav Uppuluri appointed General Counsel at TCS from April 1, 2026
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has announced the appointment of Madhav Uppuluri as its new General Counsel, effective April 1, 2026. He will succeed Madhav Anchan, who is set to retire upon superannuation at the close of business hours on March 31, 2026.
The appointment was disclosed pursuant to Regulation 30 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, and formally communicated to the National Stock Exchange of India and BSE Limited, where TCS is listed.
Mr. Uppuluri brings over 28 years of legal experience spanning litigation, commercial law, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, and regulatory compliance. He began his career in litigation before transitioning into senior in-house roles across leading organizations, including GE and the CK Birla Group. Most recently, he served as General Counsel at Tata Motors Limited.
Over the course of his career, he has handled complex domestic and cross-border transactions, as well as significant civil, criminal, and writ proceedings before various High Courts and the Supreme Court of India. His expertise in managing large-scale legal functions and navigating multifaceted regulatory landscapes is expected to further strengthen TCS’s corporate governance and compliance framework.
This planned leadership transition ensures continuity within TCS’s legal operations while reinforcing the company’s commitment to robust governance standards as it continues to expand across global markets.
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is a global leader in IT services, consulting, and business solutions, and the flagship subsidiary of the Tata Group.
