Matouk Bassiouny Welcomes Back Khalid Diaa as Partner in Corporate & M&A Practice in Cairo
Matouk Bassiouny has announced the return of Khalid Diaa as a Partner in the Corporate and M&A practice group at the firm’s Cairo office, further strengthening its regional leadership in transactional advisory services across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
Diaa, a PhD in Law graduate from Cairo University, brings over 11 years of experience advising multinationals, private equity firms, and strategic investors on complex acquisitions, cross-border structuring, joint ventures, and capital markets transactions. He rejoins the firm after a successful tenure as Corporate Counsel – MENA region at Hill International, a US-based global leader in program, project, and construction management.
Previously, Diaa spent several years at Matouk Bassiouny, rising through the ranks from Associate to Senior Associate and Counsel. He is known as a go-to counsel for clients operating in highly regulated and fast-evolving sectors including technology, healthcare, financial services, and energy.
His representative transactions include advising Edita Food Industries on its acquisition of Fancy Food SAE, the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) on its strategic investments in four Egyptian Exchange-listed companies, and First Abu Dhabi Bank in its acquisition of Bank Audi SAE.
Commenting on his return, the firm said,
“We are thrilled to welcome Khalid Diaa back as a Partner in our Corporate and M&A practice group in the Cairo office. We are confident Khalid will further strengthen our team and enhance the value we deliver to our clients.”
With offices in Egypt, UAE, Sudan, and Algeria, and a Libya country desk, Matouk Bassiouny comprises over 250 lawyers, trained in both civil and common law systems, offering services in English, Arabic, and French, and is recognised for its comprehensive legal support for corporations, financial institutions, and governmental entities across the MENA region.
