Morgan Lewis Expands Hong Kong Team with Addition of Debt Capital Markets Specialist
Morgan Lewis, a global law firm, has appointed David Liao as a new partner in their Hong Kong office.
With a focus on debt capital markets, Liao brings with him extensive experience in advising on a range of securities transactions.
Before joining Morgan Lewis, he served as a partner at Fangda Partners in Hong Kong for almost five years, where he worked on a variety of debt capital markets deals involving investment-grade bonds, high-yield bonds, and hybrid debt and equity instruments.
Liao also has a strong background in liability management transactions, including tender offers, exchange offers, and consent solicitations, relating to debt securities governed by US, UK, or Hong Kong law.
As an advisor to clients across the corporate world, investment banks, and other financial institutions in Asia, Liao brings a wealth of experience to his role at Morgan Lewis. He also has a strong background in working with underwriters and issuers in debt capital market transactions.
Jami McKeon, Morgan Lewis' chair in Philadelphia, termed global capital markets practice a key focus for the firm.
"Our clients will benefit greatly from adding a seasoned lawyer in Asia on the debt side to our leading Hong Kong practice in equity capital markets transactions," McKeon said.
