Morrison Foerster Adds Financial Services & Fintech Duo Alexandra Steinberg Barrage And Matthew Bornfreund As Partners
Morrison Foerster has expanded its Financial Services and Fintech Groups with the addition of Alexandra (Alex) Steinberg Barrage and Matthew (Matt) Bornfreund as partners in its Transactions Department, based in Washington, D.C.
Barrage, a former FDIC executive, brings over two decades of experience in bank regulatory and supervisory matters, and will also co-lead the firm’s Digital Assets practice. Bornfreund, who previously served in the Legal Division of the Federal Reserve Board, adds over a decade of regulatory, transactional, and compliance expertise.
The duo joins from another leading firm, significantly bolstering MoFo’s capacity in handling digital asset activities, enforcement, bank-Fintech partnerships, compliance, and evolving financial regulations. Barrage returns to MoFo after a prior stint in its Business Restructuring and Insolvency Group, while Bornfreund’s clientele includes banks, Fintechs, and payment services firms.
Jeremy Mandell, Co-Chair of the Financial Services Group, stated:
"Alex’s and Matt’s significant financial services, bank regulatory, and Fintech experience will be invaluable to our clients, particularly those seeking guidance at the intersection of traditional financial services and technology sectors."
Jeff Silberman, Co-Lead of the Fintech Practice, added:
"Their additions further deepen and reinforce MoFo’s position as the go-to Fintech firm."
