Norton Rose Fulbright Promotes Shahrzad Askarpour To Partner In Dubai
Norton Rose Fulbright Promotes Shahrzad Askarpour to Partner in Dubai
Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has promoted Shahrzad Askarpour, a corporate lawyer with over a decade of regional experience, to partner in its Dubai office, effective January 1, 2026.
Askarpour advises sovereign wealth funds on mergers and acquisitions, as well as regional and international companies on a wide range of corporate transactions. Her practice includes joint ventures, corporate finance, private equity, and general corporate advisory work across multiple sectors.
She is among 51 lawyers promoted to partner across Norton Rose Fulbright’s global offices in the firm’s latest promotion round. The new partner class spans 12 practice areas, with the highest number of promotions in dispute resolution (14), corporate (13), and banking and finance (eight). Intellectual property saw four promotions, while competition, cybersecurity and data privacy, projects, and government each recorded two promotions. There was one promotion each in employment, financial services and regulation, healthcare, and risk advisory.
The promotions are spread across 22 of the firm’s 53 offices worldwide. The United States accounted for the largest number of new partners (18), followed by Canada (12) and the United Kingdom (10).
Commenting on the promotions, Jeff Cody, Norton Rose Fulbright’s global managing partner and US managing partner, said,
"Growing our partnership continues to be an important focus for the firm. These individuals have demonstrated exceptional client focus, technical excellence and a genuine commitment to collaboration across our global platform.”
Peter Scott, Norton Rose Fulbright’s global managing partner and Europe, Middle East, and Asia Pacific managing partner, added,
“Our clients rely on us to deliver seamless, high-quality service wherever they operate, and this new partner class reflects the breadth and depth of talent that underpins that promise. Each of our new partners has earned this milestone through outstanding work and dedication to the firm.”
In other developments, Norton Rose Fulbright’s EMEA chair, Farmida Bi, has been appointed to the UK House of Lords. Bi is one of 25 individuals granted a peerage by Prime Minister Keir Starmer. She has chaired the firm’s EMEA group since 2018 and was re-elected for a further three-year term in 2024.
Earlier this year, the firm also strengthened its Middle East banking and finance practice with the appointment of partner Amar Meher in Riyadh, who joined from Addleshaw Goddard, and the relocation of projects partner Paul Mansouri from London to Dubai.
