Orrick Strengthens Munich Office With New M&A And Private Equity Team
Orrick Strengthens Munich Office with New M&A and Private Equity Team
Orrick has strengthened its German corporate practice with the addition of a four-lawyer M&A and private equity team in Munich. Michael Prüssner and Benjamin Schikora join Orrick as partners, along with associates Hannah Frahm and Helge Meyer. The team officially starts on December 1, 2025.
The team joins from Norton Rose Fulbright, where Michael Prüssner led the German practice group for corporate, M&A, and securities. He is recognized for his leadership by JUVE (M&A and Corporate Law) and Legal 500 (M&A, Private Equity, and Corporate Law).
Michael and Benjamin have a long history of advising companies and funds on German and cross-border M&A and private equity transactions, both buy-side and sell-side. They have deep experience across the energy & infrastructure, technology & innovation, and industrial sectors.
This move follows Orrick’s 2025 hiring spree of 16 corporate partners across nine markets, including the launch of a Miami office with a three-partner M&A and private equity team. In Europe, Orrick has added 16 partners this year, including four in London as part of a 37-lawyer transatlantic CLO and asset-backed lending team.
Christoph Brenner, co-leader of Orrick’s German offices with Stefan Schultes-Schnitzlein, said,
“We’re excited to add a top-quality team with experience in the most sophisticated German and cross-border work for leading public companies and funds. This investment in bench strength responds to strong transactional demand.”
Michael Prüssner added,
“Orrick has a strong reputation globally for innovative, sector-focused advice. We look forward to working with our new colleagues here in Germany and worldwide to build the firm’s German offering.”
Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP (Orrick) is a major global law firm that defines its practice not just by its size, but by its focused expertise in high-growth, high-impact sectors of the economy.
