Pallas Partners expands New York operations as Commercial litigator Shireen Barday joins as Partner

London-based litigation boutique Pallas Partners has announced the hiring of Shireen Barday as its commercial litigation partner in its bid to expand its operations in New York.

The firm's New York office was opened last autumn, just months after launching in London, when former Boies Schiller Flexner (BSF) deputy chair Natasha Harrison led a mass defection from the high-profile US firm's City arm. Shireen Barday has joined Pallas as its second partner from Gibson Dunn & Crutcher. She will be working closely with the existing team to expand the firm's presence and client base in the region.

Along with Barday, two associates from other firms have also joined Pallas Partners. They include commercial litigation associates John McAdams and Mark Davies. The duo was previously at New York litigation boutique Cyrulnik Fattaruso and Cravath Swaine & Moore respectively.

Natasha Harrison, the managing partner of Pallas Partners, said that the hire of Brady will add significant value to the firm as it grows its presence in New York. She said that Barday's experience in complex commercial litigation, along with her excellent track record and growing practice, complements the firm's client offering.

"We are thrilled to welcome Shireen together with John and Mark, and very much look forward to working with them," Harrison said.

Barday spent four years as a litigation partner at Gibson Dunn before joining Pallas. Before that, she was a partner in the New York office of Kirkland & Ellis.

Barday has served as principal in a range of complex commercial litigation matters, with a focus on business disputes involving fiduciary duties and allegations of fraud or other misconduct. She has significant experience in counseling life science and biotech companies in connection with disputes relating to milestone payments, royalties, and commercially reasonable and best efforts. Her expertise in these areas will be valuable for the firm as it grows its presence in New York.

In New York, Barday will work alongside commercial litigation partner Duane Loft, who left BSF in September last year alongside two counsels and an associate to open Pallas' New York office.
