He was serving at Drew & Napier as a director
Bayfront Law, the Singapore Formal Law Alliance (FLA) Partner of Nishimura & Asahi, has announced that Paras Lalwani has joined the firm as its head of international arbitration.
Having over 14 years of experience, Lalwani advises on international arbitration, investigations, and arbitration-related litigation with a focus on the technology sector.
An arbiter of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre, Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, and Thailand Arbitration Centre, he also acts as a prosecutor on behalf of the Law Society of Singapore in disciplinary matters.
The notable cases represented by Lalwani include the jurisdictional challenge to an arbitral tribunal before the Singapore Court of Appeal. He disputed the issues on approbation and reprobation of an arbitration agreement.
Lalwani joined Drew & Napier in 2009. In 2012 he moved to Dentons Rodyk and later to K&L Gates. In 2019, he rejoined Drew & Napier as a director.
Nishimura & Asahi entered a formal law alliance with Bayfront Law in 2020, becoming the first Japanese firm to do so. Bayfront currently has 10 directors, led by Managing Director Kesavan Nair.
