Parker Zangoei Joins Sidley As Partner In San Diego, Boosting Global Finance And Venture Lending Practice
Global law firm Sidley has announced the appointment of Parker Zangoei as a Partner in its Global Finance Group, based in San Diego. He joins from DLA Piper, where he was Co-Head of the Private Credit Practice and a Partner in the Finance/Venture and Growth Lending Group.
Zangoei focuses on representing lenders in private credit and direct lending transactions, especially within the emerging company and venture capital space. He regularly advises private credit funds, BDCs, banks, non-bank financial institutions, strategic investors, and others on growth debt facilities, including venture debt and middle market financings. His experience spans domestic and cross-border deals, supporting clients in the technology, life sciences, healthcare, and other high-growth sectors.
Yvette Ostolaza, Sidley’s Management Committee Chair, said, "Parker has developed a strong presence in the private credit and direct lending market in venture finance, a strategic growth area for our Global Finance practice."
Sharon Flanagan, a leader of Sidley’s Global Life Sciences Group and Management Committee member, said, "Parker’s arrival advances the firm’s strategic business goals of building out our San Diego office and expanding our emerging companies and venture capital capabilities and client base in California."
Sidley’s Global Finance Group includes more than 200 lawyers globally and is recognized for handling high-value, complex transactions across industries. The firm’s robust finance practice spans leveraged finance, structured finance, and private credit, supporting both lender and borrower mandates.
Zangoei said, "Sidley’s strong Global Finance platform, deep industry focus, and collaborative culture make this an exciting next step in my career. I look forward to working with the team in San Diego and across the firm to serve clients in the venture and growth lending space."
Sidley’s Emerging Companies and Venture Capital team represents clients throughout their lifecycle, including early-stage funding, growth rounds, and exits, supported by regulatory depth and international reach in innovation hubs worldwide.
