Raj Karia Named Global Head Of Corporate, M&A, And Securities At Norton Rose Fulbright
Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has announced the appointment of Raj Karia as the Global Head of its Corporate, M&A, and Securities practice. He will lead a team of over 450 partners and 700 lawyers across more than 50 offices worldwide.
The firm’s global M&A team has advised on over 1,000 complex transactions across all major industries in the past five years. Recent high-profile deals include advising Centamin on the US$2.5 billion offer by Anglogold Ashanti and bp on its acquisition of Bunge’s 50 percent interest in bp Bunge Bioenergia, which has an enterprise value of US$1.4 billion.
Alongside his new global role, Raj will continue as Head of Corporate, M&A, and Securities for Europe, the Middle East, and Asia (EMEA). Based in London, he has extensive experience advising companies and investment banks on M&A, equity capital markets, joint ventures, and restructuring transactions. His expertise particularly extends to the natural resources and energy sector, both in established and emerging markets.
Raj succeeds Ayşe Yüksel Mahfoud, an Istanbul and New York-based partner, who has headed the global corporate group since 2021 and will remain with the firm.
