The internationally recognised law firm with a worldwide network, Adams & Adams congratulates Ramon Pereira on his appointment as Partner, effective 1 March 2026. Ramon Pereira is a highly skilled patent attorney with a strong scientific background, holding an MSc in Molecular and Cell Biology and an LLB from the University of Cape Town.
Ramon Pereira’s practice spans patent and registered design litigation across life sciences, chemistry, mechanical engineering, mining technologies, and software-related innovations. He regularly acts on high-value, cross-border matters for multinational clients, combining technical insight with strategic IP enforcement expertise.
Beyond his legal practice, Ramon Pereira is an active thought leader in the intellectual property space, contributing articles and participating in media interviews that explore the evolving intersection of technology and IP law.
Commenting on his appointment, Ramon Pereira said,
“When I decided to pivot from science to law at uni (much to my family's horror and mounting fear of supporting a perpetual student), I looked up the top patent attorneys in South Africa and knew I wanted to work there. Fast forward to now and here I am joining their ranks as a partner! Ramon Pereira joined Adams & Adams in 2016 and has progressed through roles including Associate, Registered Patent Attorney, and Senior Associate. Prior to this, he worked at Schindlers Attorneys and in business development at Datamonitor.
