Shehata & Partners Promotes Hesham Kamel to Partner
The Egyptian law firm operating internationally through strategic global networks and a presence in the MENA region, Shehata & Partners has announced the promotion of Hesham Kamel to Partner, marking a significant milestone in his journey with the firm.
The firm noted that the road to partnership is paved with hard work, expertise, and a relentless commitment to excellence. Beyond his legal acumen, Kamel has been described as a cultural anchor within the firm since day one, embodying integrity, mentorship, and leadership while consistently driving the firm’s mission forward.
The firm stated that partnership is about more than performance metrics — it is about values, guidance, and shaping the firm’s future — qualities that Kamel has demonstrated throughout his career at Shehata & Partners.
Professional Background
Kamel has had a dynamic international career spanning Egypt and France. He most recently served as Of Counsel at Shehata & Partners, based in Paris, before his elevation to Partner in January 2026. Earlier in his career, he worked as an Associate at the firm, advising on matters including startups, private equity, intellectual property, electricity markets, microfinance, free zones, data protection, and international investment.
Alongside his role at Shehata & Partners, he founded HassleFree France, focusing on immigration and entrepreneurship advisory services, reflecting his cross-border expertise in global mobility and international business structuring.
His international exposure includes internships at Cisco, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and Gaillard Banifatemi Shelbaya Disputes, where he gained experience in international investment governance, arbitration, and commercial legal matters. Earlier in his career, he worked at Sharkawy & Sarhan Law Firm and completed compulsory military service in Egypt, during which he pursued advanced legal studies.
Education
Kamel holds multiple degrees from the University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne, including a Master 2 in International Economic Law (Bien), a Master 2 in International and European Business Law with a focus on ADR mechanisms (Bien), and a Master 1 and Licentiate in International Business, Trade, and Tax Law through the Institut de Droit des Affaires Internationales (IDAI) in Cairo. He also holds a Licentiate degree in Egyptian Law from Cairo University. His academic work includes theses on investment facilitation frameworks and foreign direct investment screening in French and European law.
Conclusion
Hesham Kamel’s promotion reflects Shehata & Partners’ commitment to recognising talent that combines technical excellence with leadership and cultural contribution. With strong cross-border academic and professional credentials, he is well positioned to contribute to the firm’s continued growth and international outlook.
