Zaid Ibrahim & Co. appoints Sharifah Shafika Alsagoff and Hafidah Aman Hashim as Partners in Islamic Banking & Finance
The primarily recognized independent Malaysian law firm, Zaid Ibrahim & Co. is pleased to announce the appointment of Sharifah Shafika Alsagoff and Hafidah Aman Hashim as Partners in its Islamic Banking and Finance practice, effective January 2026.
Sharifah Shafika Alsagoff brings over 25 years of experience in Islamic finance and capital markets, advising on sukuk issuances, project and corporate financing, restructuring exercises, Islamic investment structures, and regulatory matters, alongside commercial and development-related real estate work. Shafika’s clients include sovereigns, government-related entities, international financial institutions, and corporate service providers. She is also actively involved in public engagements, conducting seminars and training sessions in Islamic finance and Shariah-compliant investments both locally and internationally.
Hafidah Aman Hashim brings more than 20 years of expertise in Islamic banking and financing transactions, with a strong focus on Shariah-compliant financing structures, regulatory advisory work, and corporate and real estate transactions. Hafidah advises financial institutions on domestic and international Islamic and conventional financing documentation and maintains an active corporate advisory practice covering mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, development agreements, consortium agreements, and leasing and conveyancing matters. She is also a member of the Bar Council’s Islamic Finance Committee and serves on the Board of Trustees of Islamic Relief Malaysia.
With their extensive experience and deep expertise, both Sharifah Shafika Alsagoff and Hafidah Aman Hashim are set to strengthen Zaid Ibrahim & Co.’s Islamic Banking and Finance practice, supporting its continued growth and reinforcing the firm’s position as a leading advisor in Shariah-compliant finance.
