Latham & Watkins Represented Vital Energy in Acquisition of Driftwood Energy Operating Assets

Vital Energy, Inc. has completed its acquisition of the assets of Driftwood Energy Operating, LLC for US $210 million in cash and stock, which includes all leasehold interests and hedges.

The transaction was announced on February 14, 2023.

Latham & Watkins LLP, a law firm based in the US, represented Vital Energy in the transaction. The corporate deal team was headed by partners Stephen Szalkowski and John Greer, assisted by associates Cesar Leyva, Robert Cunningham, Jordan Armstrong, and Christina Schrantz. Partner Jim Cole and associate Dylan White provided advice on tax matters, while partner Matthew Jones and associate Max Fin advised on financing matters.
