Lewis Silkin names Richard Miskella and Jo Farmer as its new co-managing partners

Lewis Silkin, a UK law firm, has announced that employment partner Richard Miskella and IP and advertising law specialist Jo Farmer will serve as its next joint managing partners. They will be jointly responsible for managing the firm effective April 1 for a three-year tenure.

Miskella has been re-elected for a second term, having served as a joint managing partner since the role was created in 2019.

Farmer, on the other hand, is set to succeed Giles Crown, who served alongside Miskella between 2019 and 2023 but did not stand for re-election. He will return to practice after stepping down from his current post.

Miskella, who in the past had a seven-year stint with Linklaters, has been associated with Lewis Silkin as a partner since 2009.

His employment law practice focuses on the media, professional services, and financial services industries.

He advises both companies and senior executives on a wide range of issues including corporate projects and litigation in the High Court and employment tribunals.

Before being elected as the joint managing partner, Miskella served as the divisional managing partner for Lewis Silkin's employment, immigration, and reward division. He also has knowledge of the firm's operations and clients.

Farmer, the other newly appointed joint managing partner at Lewis Silkin, is also a veteran of the firm, having joined in 2003 after a stint in the Sydney office of Baker & McKenzie.

She has served in various leadership roles during her time at the firm, including head of brands and IP, and most recently as co-head of the firm's digital, commerce, and creative team. She advises brand owners, agencies, and media owners on commercial agreements, copy clearance, regulatory issues, media buying, and digital content. She is noted by the legal directory Chambers and Partners for her expertise in social media advertising.

Jo Evans, who last year became the first woman elected to be chair of the partnership at Lewis Silkin, said that she is pleased to confirm the unanimous election of Jo Farmer and Richard Miskella to joint managing partners.

She praised Miskella for spearheading the firm through a transformative period of substantial growth along with Crown during his first term as managing partner, which saw the firm launch in Belfast and Manchester and add around 20 partners through a combination of lateral hires and internal promotions.

Lewis Silkin now has over 75 partners across its network of offices in London, Oxford, Cardiff, Manchester, Belfast, Dublin, and Hong Kong.
