Allcargo Logistics appoints Sumit Thakur as Vice President & Head Legal

Erstwhile Head Corporate Legal & Projects of ACC and Ambuja Cements Limited, Sumit Thakur has joined Allcargo Logistics Ltd/ECU Worldwide/GATI Ltd as Vice President & Head Legal (Group). He is the Group Head Legal for Allcargo Logistics, GATI Ltd. and ECU Worldwide.

While at ACC, he was heading the Legal Support including Mining, Environment, Project Contract, Commercial Arbitration for Capex (greenfield & brownfield) and Sustainability Projects for Holcim India (ACC Limited & Ambuja Cements Ltd.)

Sumit has earlier worked with leading organizations such as Blue Star, CG Power and Industrial Solutions, Tata Chemicals and UnitedLex Corporation. He has also practised in the Supreme Court of India.

Sumit has extensive experience of advising businesses on key contractual issues and review major bids & tenders, advice on the RFP terms, project contracts, Joint Ventures and consortium agreements and terms, advising businesses on mitigation for risks identified.

He has also handled Litigation & Arbitration by formulating appropriate legal strategy including selection of external counsels and Senior Advocates, advised Corporate Management on the key issues including issues pertaining to international business.

Sumit has graduated from the Campus Law Centre, Law Faculty, Delhi University and completed his LL.M. from the Kurukshetra University.
