Allen & Overy names its new joint chair in India
The firm's Singapore Partners Sheila Ahuja and Pallavi Gopinath Aney to head the firm's India Group comprising over 100 partners and associates
The global law firm Allen & Overy LLP has named its Singapore-based Partners Sheila Ahuja and Pallavi Gopinath Aney as the joint chair of the firm's India Group.
They will lead the India Group team comprising over 100 partners and associates.
Ahuja will lead the India arbitration practice while Aney is to head the India capital market practice.
Ahuja has extensive experience in other jurisdictions, including Singapore, Hong Kong, England and Wales and Southeast Asia while Aney has several years' experience advising clients on a wide range of debt, equity and liability management transactions in India and Southeast Asia.
"Sheila and Pallavi's expertise and knowledge of the Indian market makes them two of the top India-focused lawyers. They offer complementary skills with their respective disputes and transactional focused backgrounds and will together build on an already highly successful India practice," Allen & Overy Senior Partner Wim Dejonghe said about the new leadership team.
