Bandhan Bank Appoints Shakti Vats as Vice President of Legal Affairs
Bandhan Bank, a leading private sector bank, has welcomed Shakti Vats as its newly appointed Vice President of Legal Affairs. With a distinguished track record in legal and financial leadership, his joining further solidifies Bandhan Bank's standing in India’s ever-changing landscape of banking and finance.
In his capacity as Vice President, Vats will assume a crucial role in propelling the company's financial expansion. Based at the bank's headquarters in Kolkata, he will lead the charge in managing legal affairs, finance, and compliance. Shakti will have oversight over the bank's financial operations, including financial planning, expense management, tax compliance, financial legal compliance, and the development of a resilient company portfolio to attract diverse opportunities.
Bringing to the table more than 18 years of extensive experience in the banking sector, his appointment serves as a significant reinforcement for the bank's legal department. His expertise spans a wide array of legal domains, encompassing Banking and Finance, both Retail and Corporate Home Finance, intricate dispute resolution, and a comprehensive grasp of civil and commercial laws, insolvency proceedings, criminal law, and various other corporate disputes. Vats’ multifaceted skill set and vast experience make him a highly valuable addition to the Bandhan Bank team.
Before assuming his role at Bandhan Bank, Vats held the position of National Head of Legal Affairs at PNB Housing Finance Ltd, where he played a central role in overseeing the organisation's legal matters. His career also includes valuable experience gained during his tenure at Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd., solidifying his reputation as a seasoned legal professional within the banking industry. Vats, a law graduate from the class of 2005, additionally holds an MBA from the University School of Management Studies in New Delhi.
Having amassed nearly two decades of experience, Shakti Vats’ professional journey is characterised by outstanding accomplishments in various dimensions of the legal arena. His appointment highlights Bandhan Bank's unwavering dedication to upholding excellence in legal governance and bolsters the bank's leadership cadre. His profound industry and strategic acumen are expected to play a pivotal role in ensuring the bank's ongoing growth and adherence to legal regulations.
