Dhwani Rao Promoted to General Counsel and Head – Legal & Compliance at Nestlé
Nestlé India has announced the promotion of Dhwani Rao as General Counsel and Head – Legal & Compliance, effective January 1, 2026. Rao will succeed T S Venkateswaran as part of a broader leadership reshuffle aimed at strengthening Nestlé India’s focus on sustainability, corporate affairs, and legal compliance.
A law graduate from Symbiosis Law School, Pune, Rao began her career with Archer & Angel Advocates and Legal Consultants before moving in-house at Nestlé India in 2012. She has over 13 years of experience at Nestlé, having held roles including Associate General Counsel, Head Legal Counsel (IP, Digital, HR Legal) & Head of Data Privacy for South Asia, and Senior Legal Counsel (IP, Digital, HR) & Data Privacy Head for South Asia.
Rao’s expertise spans FMCG law, intellectual property, advertising law, digital, and HR legal matters, and she has been instrumental in driving Nestlé India’s legal compliance and regulatory initiatives across the region.
The leadership reshuffle reflects Nestlé India’s commitment to evolving its organizational structure to meet changing market dynamics and business needs, with dedicated leadership roles in critical areas of the business.
