Former Luminous GC Ashish Pandey joins Hero Future Energies as Chief Governance, Corporate Legal Officer and Company Secretary
Hero Future Energies Pvt. Ltd. has appointed Ashish Pandey as its Chief Legal & Governance Officer and Company Secretary, effective January 2026. In his new role, Ashish will lead the company’s corporate legal, compliance, and governance functions, supporting the group’s strategic growth in the renewable energy sector.
Ashish joins Hero Future Energies from Luminous Power Technologies (P) Ltd, where he spent over a decade in progressively senior leadership roles, most recently serving as General Counsel and Company Secretary. At Luminous, he spearheaded corporate affairs, legal, compliance, and governance strategies, ensuring regulatory adherence and effective risk mitigation across the organisation.
During his tenure, Ashish implemented comprehensive ethics and compliance programmes, including organisation-wide compliance training and policy frameworks, significantly strengthening regulatory awareness and reducing legal risk. He also collaborated with AZB Legal on secretarial, legal, regulatory, employment, and insurance due diligence in connection with a major potential sale transaction. In addition, he led the implementation of IT-based governance tools for monitoring trademarks, designs, and patents.
Prior to his role as General Counsel, Ashish served as AVP (Legal & Compliance) and Company Secretary and General Manager (Legal & Compliance) and Company Secretary at Luminous, overseeing litigation strategy, competition law matters, team management, and enterprise-wide compliance. Luminous is part of the €35 billion Schneider Electric Group, France.
Before Luminous, Ashish held senior legal and governance roles at GKN Driveline / GKN Automotive, where he managed legal and company law affairs across multiple jurisdictions, led corporate governance and audit functions, handled regulatory compliance under the Companies Act, UK Bribery Act, tax laws, and conducted internal investigations involving potential fraud and conflicts of interest. Earlier in his career, he headed legal and secretarial functions at Bharat Gears Ltd, managing compliances for multiple companies, including listed entities, and independently executing rights issues. He began his professional journey as a Company Secretary at Usha India Limited.

Ashish Pandey holds an LL.B. from Delhi University and is a qualified Company Secretary from the Institute of Company Secretaries of India. He has also completed leadership and general management programmes from IIM Lucknow and Cranfield School of Management, bringing a strong blend of legal, governance, and strategic leadership expertise to his new role.
