Howie Farn joins Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in HK
Howie Farn, a capital markets specialist, has joined Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in Hong Kong as a partner from Kirkland & Ellis.
As a result of Farn's departure, Kirkland's Hong Kong office lost capital markets partner Li-Chien Wong to HKEx only a few weeks earlier. In 2021, Xiaoxi Lin and Daniel Margulies, both the financial restructuring experts, have left the office for Linklaters and corporate partner Michael D. Rackham has moved to Singapore-based, Latham & Watkins.
Mengyu Lu from Sidley Austin was also welcomed back to the office at that time. In August, it intends to recruit former Hong Kong SFC executive director Brian Ho as a partner.
Specifically, Farn's experience focuses on capital markets transactions. It includes pre-IPO and post-IPO financings and investments, as well as a range of general corporate and regulatory matters related to U.S. securities law. Prior to joining Kirkland, he served as a counsel at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett.
