Law firm Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson has announced the hiring of James Renahan as a partner in the private equity practice in London. The move comes after the firm lost three partners recently.
Renahan has over two decades of experience in handling complex cross-border M&A and private equity transactions for pan-European and international corporates, private equity firms, and institutional investors.
Ashar Qureshi, the managing partner at Fried Frank in London, said, "Renahan will work closely with M&A partner Ian Lopez to develop the bench strength of the firm."
He added, "Our European transactions practice is a key part of global client strategy. Renahan's arrival greatly enhances our private equity and M&A offering in Europe, buttressing our ability to provide a full-service offering across the full private equity fund cycle."
Renahan earlier served at Travers Smith. His clients included private equity firms Phoenix Equity Partners, Livingbridge EP, and Equistone Partners Europe.
