Kartikey Mahajan appointed dispute resolution partner at Khaitan & Co

Kartikey Mahajan is set to join the law firm Khaitan & Co as a dispute resolution practice partner at its new Singapore office. The former Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas lawyer is the first in this practice to join the firm in Singapore.

On his association, Amar Sinhji, the Executive Director (Human Resources) at Khaitan & Co, said, "We are pleased to welcome Kartikey Mahajan as our first dispute resolution partner in our recently opened Singapore office. We now have three partners based at this office."

Mahajan is a 2011 graduate from the National Law University, Jodhpur and pursued his LL.M. from Harvard University in 2015. With over 10 years of experience in Indian and foreign law firms, he has previously worked in the London offices of King & Spalding and Kirkland & Ellis. Prior to that he was with Clifford Chance at their Singapore office and had a brief stint as a counsel at Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas in Mumbai.

In his new role at Khaitan's, Mahajan will focus on international arbitration matters, both for Indian and foreign clients. In collaboration with international law firms, he will work with the firm's other dispute resolution partners based in India.

In addition, while teaming up with the firm's India-based litigation and investigation partners, Mahajan will actively engage with multinational companies and financial sponsors in the region. He will help them anticipate and mitigate contentious situations arising out of India.
