Mohit Kapoor, Former Executive Vice President & Head Legal at SBI Card, Joins DBS Bank as Executive Director & Head Legal
DBS Bank has announced the appointment of Mohit Kapoor as Executive Director & Head Legal. Kapoor, a dual-qualified attorney (India and England & Wales), brings over two decades of experience in corporate and commercial legal, regulatory, and secretarial compliance.
A 1992 graduate of Delhi University, Kapoor has held senior legal positions across leading banking and financial institutions, including Citigroup, Max Life Insurance, RBL Bank, IIFL Finance, and SBI Card. Prior to joining DBS Bank, he served as Executive Vice President & Head Legal at SBI Card for three years.
At DBS Bank, Kapoor leads the legal function, overseeing corporate, wholesale, institutional, and consumer banking products while providing strategic guidance to ensure regulatory compliance and risk mitigation across diverse banking operations.
Experience
Kapoor currently serves as Executive Director & Head Legal at DBS Bank. Previously, he has held the following roles: Executive Vice President & Head-Legal at SBI Card, Head of Legal at IIFL Finance, Group Executive Vice President & Head-Legal at RBL Bank, Director – Legal & Compliance at Religare Finvest Limited, Chief Counsel – Asia Pacific at Aon Hewitt, Senior Vice President at Max Life Insurance Company Limited, Vice President & General Counsel, GCG India at Citigroup, Legal Counsel – IMG/TWI India at IMG, and Specialist in International Laws at Nagashima Ohno & Tsunematsu.
Education
Kapoor earned an LL.B in Corporate and Business Laws and a Bachelors of Commerce from Delhi University. He completed his schooling at The Mothers International School, New Delhi.
Mohit Kapoor was honoured by Legal Era – Legal Media Group as “India's Finest General Counsel 2023.” Key highlights of this recognition include: the award title, India's Finest General Counsel 2023, and his previous accolade from Legal Era, having been recognised as “Young Achiever of the Year” in 2021.
