Reliance Industries Appoints Abhijeet Shinde As Senior General Counsel In Anant Ambani’s Office
Reliance Industries Appoints Abhijeet Shinde as Senior General Counsel in Anant Ambani’s Office
Reliance Industries Limited has appointed Abhijeet Shinde as Senior General Counsel in the Office of Anant Ambani, marking a significant addition to its in-house legal leadership.
Shinde brings with him over 16 years of extensive legal experience, particularly in complex litigation, arbitration, and high-value commercial transactions. His appointment underscores Reliance’s continued focus on strengthening its legal and compliance framework with seasoned professionals.
An alumnus of Government Law College, Mumbai (2008), Shinde went on to complete his LL.M in Business Law from the University of Mumbai in 2010. Over the years, he has built a strong reputation for handling intricate legal matters and advising senior management on strategic issues.
Prior to joining Reliance Industries, Shinde served as Head of Litigation at Welspun World, where he managed high-stakes disputes, international arbitrations, and provided legal counsel to the company board on critical matters. Before that, he held a similar leadership role at the Lodha Group, overseeing major litigation portfolios.
Earlier in his career, Shinde worked with some of India’s leading law firms, including Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Trilegal, Bharucha & Partners, and Dua Associates, gaining wide-ranging exposure to corporate and dispute resolution matters.
Announcing his new role, Shinde shared,
"I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Senior General Counsel, Office of Sh. Anant Ambani at Reliance Industries Limited!"
With his rich background across law firms and corporate legal departments, Shinde is expected to play a key role in advising on strategic legal issues and strengthening governance initiatives within the Anant Ambani office.
Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) is an Indian multinational conglomerate headquartered in Mumbai and is the largest private sector corporation in India. As of early 2026, it remains the country's most valuable company with a market capitalisation of approximately ₹19.8 lakh crore ($217 billion).
