Indian Senior Advocate Shyam Divan has been bestowed with the title of the President of the Law Association for Asia and the Pacific (LAWASIA) in a ceremony held as part of the 36th LAWASIA conference.
In 2018, Divan was elected as its Vice-President.
The four-day annual conference, held in Bengaluru, India, commenced on November 24.
Formed in 1966, LAWASIA is a regional association representing judges, lawyers, and jurists from the Asia-Pacific region. The organization advocates for the interests and concerns of the legal profession in these regions.
