Sonal Basu appointed Senior Vice President & General Counsel at Ascendion
Ascendion appointed Sonal Basu as Senior Vice President & General Counsel, bringing nearly two decades of experience in the information technology sector and strategic legal leadership.
Basu provided counsel across multiple organizations, including serving as General Counsel at Lloyds Technology Centre India and Vice President & Global Head – Legal & Compliance at LTIMindtree. She held several key legal leadership positions at Mindtree, including General Counsel, Head of Legal – Americas, and General Manager & Head of Legal (US), handling global IT transactions and compliance matters.
Earlier in her career, Basu worked at IBM India/South Asia as Counsel, Wipro Limited in Senior Corporate Counsel and Legal Counsel roles, J. Sagar Associates as Associate, and as Partner heading the IT/ITES practice at L.A.W. (Lawyers At Work).
Basu has deep expertise in Information Technology (IT) and Outsourcing, having advised on complex IT services, cloud computing, and technology-related transactions throughout her career. She has also authored articles and spoken at conferences on these topics, shaping legal and governance practices in the sector.
Basu holds a Master of Laws (LL.M) from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and an LL.B from Government Law College, Mumbai. Basu is an active speaker and author on IT and outsourcing legal matters.
