Sudip Mahapatra Moves from S&R Associates to Hillhouse Investment
Hillhouse Investment welcomes Sudip Mahapatra as he moves from S&R Associates, bringing over 17 years of expertise in M&A and private equity transactions.
Mahapatra, a highly regarded lawyer with over 17 years of experience, will be advising Hillhouse Investment on complex business transactions across India. His expertise spans Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), Private Equity (PE) transactions including buyouts, PIPE transactions, growth capital investments, acquisitions by InvITs, asset purchases, and joint ventures. He has advised clients across diverse sectors, including infrastructure, real estate, manufacturing, technology, e-commerce, banking, and financial services.
Confirming Mahapatra's exit, Rajat Sethi (Partner, S&R Associates) said, “Sudip has been a valued member of the Firm. We are delighted for him and wish him all the very best.”
Mahapatra has been associated with S&R Associates for 15 years, holding the position of Partner for nine years. Prior to joining the firm, he worked at Kirkland & Ellis LLP in New York.
Sudip Mahapatra holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Columbia Law School and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) and Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad. He is also qualified as a Solicitor in England and Wales.
With his move to Hillhouse Investment, Mahapatra is expected to leverage his extensive transactional expertise to strengthen the firm’s India operations, particularly in M&A and private equity transactions.
