Tammy Albarrán hired by Peloton as chief legal officer
The move comes as part of a wider leadership shakeup
Peloton has appointed Tammy Albarrán as the US fitness company's chief legal officer and corporate secretary. She steps in as co-founder and CLO Hisao Kushi resigned following the firm suffering a stormy spell and witnessing its value tumble.
San Francisco-based Albarrán will manage the legal, compliance, and policy functions in her new role.
She joins after four-and-a-half years at Uber, where she served as a deputy general counsel. Prior to that, she was a partner at the law firm Covington & Burling. She specializes in internal investigations, anti-corruption matters, regulatory investigations and SEC, and securities issues.
While working at Covington, she helped lead an investigation into employee misbehavior at Uber. Albarránas had co-authored a report with a partner and former US Attorney General Eric Holder that limited Uber's notoriously freewheeling culture.
