Timothy Franklyn Joins Krishnamurthy & Co. (K Law) As Senior Partner To Lead Capital Markets And International Practice
Timothy Franklyn joins Krishnamurthy & Co. (K Law) as Senior Partner to lead Capital Markets and International Practice
The premier full-service Indian law firm, Krishnamurthy & Co. (K Law) has announced the appointment of Timothy Franklyn as Senior Partner and Head of its Capital Markets and International Practice, effective February 2, 2026.
Franklyn joins the firm from Fox & Mandal, where he served as Deputy Managing Partner and National Head – Capital Markets. His move marks a strategic step for K Law as it strengthens its expertise in capital markets and expands its international practice capabilities.
With over 20 years of experience in cross-border capital markets and international corporate finance, Franklyn brings deep expertise in handling complex transactions, including initial public offerings (IPOs), high-yield bond offerings, qualified institutional placements (QIPs), and other structured financings.
At K Law, Franklyn will focus on leading the firm’s international practice while further developing its capital markets offering. He will oversee a dedicated capital markets team comprising approximately 10 lawyers across the firm’s Mumbai and Bengaluru offices.
Prior to his tenure at Fox & Mandal, Franklyn held senior roles at several leading global law firms. He was previously a Partner at Tatva Legal and has also worked with international firms including A&O Shearman (formerly Allen & Overy) and DLA Piper, where he advised on numerous high-profile cross-border transactions.
He holds an LL.M. from the London School of Economics (LSE) and is dual-qualified as an advocate in India and a solicitor in the Senior Courts of England and Wales. His professional credentials are further complemented by notable recognitions – he was selected as an Obama Scholar at Columbia University in 2020 and is also a BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt Responsible Leader.
Beyond legal practice, Franklyn has been actively involved in academic and institutional initiatives. He is the founder of the National School of Journalism and Public Discourse (NSoJ) and is spearheading the launch of the Bengaluru School of Law and Justice (SoLJ).
Franklyn also shares a long-standing professional association with K Law, having collaborated closely with the firm on several cross-border M&A matters during his time at DLA Piper.
His appointment is expected to play a pivotal role in enhancing K Law’s presence in global capital markets and reinforcing its position as a leading full-service Indian law firm with strong international reach.
Krishnamurthy & Co. (K Law) is a premier, full-service Indian law firm established in 1999 by Naina Krishna Murthy. Headquartered in Bengaluru, it has expanded to include offices in Mumbai, New Delhi, and Chennai, housing over 85 lawyers.
