Yes Bank Announces Appointment of Sanjay Abhyankar as New Compliance Officer
Yes Bank's Board of Directors, based on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, has approved the appointment of Sanjay Abhyankar as theCompany Secretary (Key Managerial Personnel) and Compliance Officer, effective from April 1, 2025.
Abhyankar, who began his career at LIC of India in 1993, joined Yes Bank in September 2020 as President and Vertical Head of Company Secretary Operations. During his time at the Bank, he has been instrumental in ensuring regulatory compliance with corporate and securities laws, secretarial standards, and has contributed to significant initiatives such as the Bank's reconstruction, the formation of an alternate board, and a preferential issue. Before joining Yes Bank, Abhyankar worked with several listed companies, including Uttam Steel Limited, BSE Limited, and Shrenuj & Company Limited. He also served as Vice President & Compliance Officer at State Bank of India (SBI), where he managed the merger of SBI with five Associate Banks and Bharatiya Mahila Bank Ltd. and oversaw the largest Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP) in Asia.
With 27 years of experience in Corporate Law, Legal, Compliance, Capital Markets, Banking, and Finance, Abhyankar’s appointment follows the upcoming retirement of Shivanand Shettigar, the current Company Secretary of Yes Bank, who will retire on March 31, 2025.
