Osborne Clarke names Conrad Davies as the new UK managing partner
He will replace corporate partner Ray Berg in January 2023 who has been with the firm since 2001
One of the top 30 UK law firms Osborne Clarke has named real estate transactions lawyer Conrad Davies as its new managing partner. He has been with the firm for over 17 years and entered a partnership in 2011.
Davies will replace corporate partner Ray Berg, who completes his eight-year term at December-end.
Currently, Davies is the international head of the firm's Urban Dynamics Group. He helped the firm in forming the real estate practice, heading its international real estate and infrastructure sector offerings. Recently, he led the team that established the firm's 2025 client strategy.
Having spent more than 17 years at Osborne Clarke, Conrad became a Partner in 2011 and was previously at Jones Day. He helped to establish the firm's corporate real estate practice 10 years ago and also headed up the firm's international real estate and infrastructure sector for seven years.
He was instrumental in leading the team that established the firm's 2025 client strategy. Most recently he was also appointed as International Transformation Leader for Urban Dynamics, which is focused on supporting clients as they navigate the legal impacts, challenges and business opportunities arising from the rapid changes taking place in modern cities and towns, particularly around the future of work and living, smart cities and urban mobility.
Davies said that following in Berg's footsteps meant he had "big shoes to fill" but he was ready for the challenge and to build on his predecessor's success over the next four years.
Peter Clough, the senior partner at Osborne Clarke, said, "It has been an incredible eight years under Berg's leadership. He has shown outstanding dedication and commitment to building the firm into what it is today. Davies has also been one of our firm's great leaders and has been instrumental in helping to build our strategy."
