Fibre To The Fore: Sterlite Triumphs In Patent Battle

Fibre To The Fore: Sterlite Triumphs In Patent Battle
Sterlite's patent win sets new industry benchmark
Sterlite Technologies Ltd. achieves a significant win in a pre-grant opposition filed by HFCL Ltd. against Patent Application No. 201811005501 for a "Cylindrical Enclosure for Optical Waveguide Cable". The opposition alleged lack of novelty, inventive step, and non-patentability.
The Patent Office dismissed all objections, upholding the patent's grant and affirming the originality and inventive merit of the optical fibre enclosure. Sterlite Technologies successfully demonstrated that the cited prior art failed to disclose or anticipate the distinct structural and functional features of the claimed invention.
The company's arguments effectively refuted assertions of inherent disclosure without evidence and highlighted the inventive concept's technical problem-solving capabilities. This decision marks a significant victory for Sterlite Technologies, showcasing its innovative capabilities in optical communication.
