Kunal Savani is a Partner and heads the Tax Practice in the Mumbai office of Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas. He has more than 22 years of post-qualification experience in advising on complex cross-border taxation. He has expertise in various facets of taxation and a remarkable proficiency in areas such as corporate tax, international tax, transfer pricing and both inbound and outbound M&A transactions. His extensive experience encompasses the design and evaluation of tax-efficient strategies for acquisitions, divestments, mergers, demergers, formation of joint ventures, foreign direct investment structuring, repatriation strategies, setting up of GCCs and corporate reorganizations, including pre-IPO consolidations, exit planning, reverse flip structures, distressed acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, having multi-jurisdictional tax implications. He also has a wealth of experience in advising and representing clients before various judicial authorities in complex tax matters, including those related to the goods and service tax (GST) and custom laws. His proficiency also extends to tax laws related to family settlements/constitutions, trusts (onshore and offshore), wills, gifts and succession planning including US and UK tax laws.
