Dr. Hadef Al Dhaheri is the Founding Partner of Hadef & Partners, established in 1980, and has been a leading figure in the UAE legal landscape for over four decades. He served as the Federal Minister of Justice from 2008 to 2014, during which he held multiple key roles, including President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Chairman of the Ministerial Legislative Committee, and Chairman of the Boards of the Zakat Fund and the Institute of Training and Judicial Studies.
Dr. Hadef’s distinguished academic and professional background includes serving as Vice Chancellor of UAE University (1994–2007), membership in the Faculty of Sharia and Law, and acting as Legal Advisor to the Government of Abu Dhabi (1993–1994). He has contributed to various councils and authorities, including the Supreme Council of the GCC, the Dubai International Arbitration Centre, and the Water & Electricity Authority of Abu Dhabi.
He holds a Ph.D. in Constitutional Law from Cambridge University (1991) and an LL.M. in Comparative Law from Harvard University (1984). Licensed to appear before local and federal UAE courts, Dr. Hadef is fluent in English and Arabic. Since August 2014, he has resumed active practice at Hadef & Partners, continuing to provide strategic legal guidance as a founding partner.
