Reem Alsayegh is a banking and financial regulatory lawyer based in Linklaters’ Dubai office since 2011, with prior experience in the firm’s London and Singapore offices. She has broad experience advising on syndicated and secured financings, with a particular focus on Islamic finance, real estate, and emerging markets lending, and leads the firm’s Islamic finance practice. Reem advises clients on English and UAE law-governed transactions, representing both lenders and borrowers, including leading local and international banks, investment managers, corporates, and sovereign wealth funds across the UAE and Bahrain. She also heads the Middle East financial regulatory group, leveraging her knowledge of modern financial markets, infrastructure, and emerging technologies, including blockchain, artificial intelligence, and digital identification systems. Reem has been involved in some of the region’s most significant finance transactions, including large-scale conventional and Islamic facilities, sustainability-linked syndicated loans, and high-value margin loans, while also advising on regulatory matters such as LIBOR transition projects, consumer protection regimes, and Shariah-compliant crypto-asset financial services. She is recognized for translating complex legal issues into practical business solutions and is a champion of gender equality in the workplace.
