Alhassane Barry is a Partner in the Projects Group, specializing in international project development and financing across the power, infrastructure, telecommunications, metals and mining, oil and gas, and natural resources sectors. He advises sponsors, developers, project companies, equity investors, and financiers on complex, cross-border transactions, with extensive experience across the Middle East, Asia, and Africa.
Recognized by Chambers and Partners Global for being “very thorough” and praised for his ability to explain complex matters with precision, Alhassane has been instrumental in advising on landmark projects. These include the Republic of Guinea on the US$24 billion Simandou project — the world’s largest mining and related rail and port infrastructure project—and major renewable energy projects such as the Al-Husainiyah Solar PV IPP in Jordan, the Abydos and Amunet IPPs in Egypt, and multiple solar PV financings under Egypt’s Feed-in Tariff Programme.
Alhassane holds LL.M. degrees in Banking and Finance Law and International Law from Université Paris II Panthéon–Assas, and an LL.M. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, along with executive training at the Wharton School. He is admitted as an Attorney at Law in New York and as an Avocat à la Cour in Paris.
