Lyndon Richards is a Partner at Beale & Co in Dubai, bringing nearly 30 years of legal experience with a focus on construction and insurance-related matters. Having been based in the UAE since 2014, Lyndon combines deep sector expertise with regional insight. He began his career with Beale & Co, where he trained and became a partner before 2009, and rejoined the firm in 2020 after holding senior in-house roles as MENA counsel for two major global multidisciplinary consultancies. His experience as part of senior leadership teams has provided him with valuable commercial acumen and a strong understanding of the operational realities faced by construction professionals.
Lyndon’s practice spans both contentious and non-contentious work. On the non-contentious side, he advises on projects involving various FIDIC forms, including the White, Green, Orange, and Red Books, as well as bespoke contracts, tender and performance bonds, parent company guarantees, and collateral warranties. He has worked on major regional infrastructure and energy projects, such as Etihad Rail, the Riyadh and Qatar metro developments, and the extension of the Dubai Metro.
His contentious experience covers large, complex, and high-value construction and professional indemnity claims across the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Europe, with disputes valued up to USD 300 million. These matters have involved projects in sectors such as transport, water, energy, and real estate. Lyndon is experienced in all forms of dispute resolution and is a Centre for Dispute Resolution (CEDR) Accredited Commercial Mediator. He holds practising rights in England and Wales and with the DLAD.
