Angelino Alfano is Of Counsel at BonelliErede, specializing in civil law and international relations. He has extensive expertise in public international law, international trade law, anti-terrorism proceedings, compliance for security in stadiums and large events, international sanctions, and the legal protection of Made in Italy in international organizations.

He is Co-Professor of the course Islam in Europe: Migration, Integration and Security at LUISS University of Rome and serves as a consultant to Confindustria on cooperation and development with countries across the African continent. Within BonelliErede, Angelino is a member of the Africa Team, Team Leader of the Public International Law & Economic Diplomacy Focus Team, and a member of the Corporate Compliance & Investigations, Corporate Governance, and Golden Power Task Force teams.

Prior to joining BonelliErede in July 2018, Angelino held a distinguished academic and institutional career. From 1994 to 2018, he served in various political and governmental roles, including as a Member of the Sicilian Regional Assembly, Member of the Chamber of Deputies, Minister of Justice, Minister of the Interior, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Deputy Prime Minister.

He has been instrumental in developing key legislation on anti-mafia measures, judicial reform, civil mediation, anti-terrorism, and gender violence. A PhD in Corporate Law and a member of the Italian Bar, Angelino has published numerous academic articles and frequently lectures at universities and institutions on legal and policy matters. He is fluent in English.
