Professor Gbolahan Elias SAN is a Partner at G. Elias and one of Nigeria’s foremost legal practitioners. He read law at Magdalen and Merton Colleges, Oxford University, earning BA and BCL degrees with First Class Honours, an MA, and a D.Phil. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1981 and the New York Bar in 1990, and was elevated to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria in 2005.

Professor Elias has extensive experience advising on seminal mergers and acquisitions, complex foreign currency financings, pioneering infrastructure projects, transformative commercial arrangements, and law reform initiatives. His notable assignments include the Lagos State Red Line metro rail project, NATCOM’s acquisition of Nitel/Mtel, Nigeria’s first Eurobond, and AMCON’s record N3 trillion bond.

He has served as Chairman of the Lagos State Law Reform Commission, Visiting Professor at Babcock University, and Chancellor of Lagos State University, and is widely published on arbitration, M&A, and finance.
