Abubakar Anafi is a Partner at G. Elias, specialising in dispute resolution, insolvency, employment, and consumer products. He advises and represents clients in courts and tribunals across Nigeria, including the Supreme Court, and in international arbitrations. Abubakar’s expertise spans mediation, arbitration, and litigation, handling complex matters relating to compliance, employment, banking, real estate, shareholder disputes, and product liability.

Notable matters include defending a Dubai-based clearing company in an N6bn arbitration across African jurisdictions, advising on a USD900 million ICC arbitration against the Federal Government of Nigeria, and handling multiple high-value receivership claims, including over N13bn for Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria and Afrijet Airlines Ltd., as well as claims involving Arik Air Nigeria Limited. He has also successfully prosecuted and defended multi-billion-naira claims for leading Nigerian banks.

Abubakar is a Commonwealth Professional Fellow, a member of the Nigerian Bar and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK). He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from the University of Ilorin and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2007.
