Greg is a partner in Brodies’ Oil & Gas team, bringing over 25 years of experience as a leading practitioner in the energy sector, with particular expertise in the drilling and oilfield services industries. His extensive career spans both private practice and in-house roles, giving him a deep understanding of the commercial and operational realities of the oil and gas business.

For more than two decades, Greg has focused on the drilling sector, including three years as General Counsel for Transocean’s Europe and Africa Business Unit in Paris, and over seven years as in-house counsel for Global Marine, GlobalSantaFe, and ADTI. His experience covers drilling contract negotiations, service sector agreements, and turnkey project delivery across the North Sea and West Africa.

Qualified in both English and U.S. law, Greg is a member of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators and contributes actively to industry thought leadership. He co-founded the “Contracting Compass Seminar Series,” offering insights on English law issues in oil and gas contracting, and contributed to the 3rd Edition of “Oil & Gas Law—Current Practice & Emerging Trends.” A consummate team player, Greg is known for his collaborative approach, strategic insight, and ability to deliver practical, business-focused legal advice.
