Qays Hatim Zu’bi is the Chairman of Zu’bi & Partners Attorneys & Legal Consultants and Senior Partner of Zu’bi & Partners Legal Consultants in Dubai. He serves as President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Bahrain and was formerly the Honorary Consul of Canada to Bahrain. His principal practice areas include banking and finance, commercial and corporate law, franchising, government and infrastructure projects, intellectual property, labour law, litigation and arbitration, mergers and acquisitions, privatisation, property, and telecommunications.

Qays holds a law degree from the University of Cambridge and a degree in Economics and Political Science from Duke University. He is a licensed litigator, a certified arbitrator with the GCC Commercial Arbitration Centre, and a licensed lawyer and legal consultant in both Bahrain and Dubai. He began his legal career in 1981 at Hatim S. Zu’bi & Partners in Bahrain, eventually becoming a partner. In the 1990s, he led a partnership with Canadian firm Stikeman Elliott to pursue regional legal opportunities, and later joined Al Futtaim & Sons in Dubai as legal and business development advisor, gaining extensive experience in UAE commercial law.

Before founding Qays H. Zu’bi Attorneys & Legal Consultants in 2001, Qays was the executive resident partner of White & Case LLP in Bahrain, handling advisory and litigation matters for major financial institutions, multinational corporations, and private clients. In 2012, he merged his firm with Hatim S. Zu’bi & Partners to form Zu’bi & Partners Attorneys & Legal Consultants.

Qays advises private and corporate clients across Bahrain and the GCC on local, regional, and international legal matters, including international litigation and management of clients’ international assets. He is active in professional and community organizations, including the Oxford & Cambridge Society (founding member and chairman), the Bahrain Japan Business & Friendship Society, Junior Achievement International (InJAz Bahrain), and AIESEC Bahrain. He is also a member of the International Bar Association and the Law Society of England & Wales (International Division).
